How confident and how hard would your favorite sports team play if they knew they couldn't lose? No matter what the circumstances looked like, no matter by how much they were losing, they knew without a doubt they were going to win...as long as they don't quit. They very likely would keep playing and press on. Throughout sporting history we've seen some "unbelievable" comebacks, where the losing team, against all odds, never gave up and came out victorious. Christian believers have a promise of victory (its the foundation of our faith), and yet, so many give up when challenges arise, or give in to pressure.
