Inheritance of Authority

The Word of God tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold the new has come.” As new creations, we have been put into a position of power and authority, which has been given to us by God through Jesus Christ.
When you made Jesus the Lord of your life, you were delivered from the power of darkness. The word power means authority. That simply means that you were delivered from the power or authority of darkness and placed in God’s kingdom. That power was given to you as part of your inheritance in Christ Jesus. You are now in this position of authority because you are in Him.
Jesus came to secure our power and authority that was stolen through Adam’s disobedience in the garden. In 1 Corinthians 15:45, Jesus was called the last Adam. After he secured that power and authority, he freely gave it over into the hands of those who would believe on Him. That includes you and me.
We have been given the authority to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” Every born- again believer has the responsibility to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in this earth. God isn’t the one doing the preaching. He has given YOU and I the power and authority to do the preaching. God will not lay hands on the sick. He will bring the healing, but WE are to lay hands on the sick by faith, believing God will perform His Word.
I am reminded of the story in Mark 4:35-40, when a great storm of strong winds and giant waves beat into the ship that the disciples were in. Jesus was fast asleep in the hinder part of the ship. They were so afraid that they woke him and asked why he would allow this to happen to them. He arose, rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, “Peace be still.” The wind ceased immediately and there was a great calm.
Jesus asked the disciples why they were so fearful and had no faith. Before Jesus went to sleep, he spoke the words, “Let us pass over unto the other side.” There was enough power and authority in those words to accomplish the job. After He said that he went to the back of the boat and went to sleep. He delegated the authority to His disciples and they accepted it. But, when the storm came, they were filled with fear that the boat would sink. Jesus then had to carry out the authority that he had given them by rebuking the winds and the sea.
Just like this example and many personal examples in my own life, YOU have control over your own life. As a believer, Jesus has delegated and given YOU power over Satan. You are to give him NO place in your life. You are born of the Spirit of God and are filled with the Spirit of God. You have been given the Word of God. Those things are enough for you to carry out your spiritual authority and power here on the earth. You just have to exercise your authority. Jesus has already done everything to secure the power over sin, sickness, and fear. It is time for you, as a believer to act that way- in confidence of what is yours. This absolutely changed my life as a believer. So many times the enemy has attacked our family or the ministry, and without knowing the authority we have been given through Jesus, it could have destroyed us. But, we knew the power given to us, and we spoke with that power over every situation. God has never and will never fail us. But, it is up to each one of us to release the power freely given.
You have obtained an inheritance, and in that you have been given all authority through Jesus. Be encouraged today, the enemy has NO chance when you walk in the power of God’s Word in your life. I pray you receive this life changing revelation today, friends.
