Speak Restoration
Jun 7, 2024 | by Anthony Wade
As I was meditating on the goodness of God this morning, I had a strong sense in my spirit to begin to declare restoration over my life and over my family. I’m not really sure how to describe it, because I can’t really put my finger on an area where I have a sense of overwhelming loss. It’s not as if I have recently lost a job or had a family member move to Heaven. My relationships with my wife and children have genuinely never been better. But for some reason, I knew that I had to declare restoration by faith.
So, I was obedient to do as the Lord instructed. And as I did, He began showing me that there are places the enemy has been working behind the scenes to steal from me. Opportunities for increase in different areas of my life, doors to step through in ministry, and other things. It’s not that I had something noticeable that was “missing” in my life, it’s just that the Father was taking me to a deeper place in my spiritual walk where discernment of times and seasons is concerned.
Well, wouldn’t you know that the Holy Spirit led me to a verse of scripture that I forgot was even in the Bible! Isaiah 42:21-22 says, “The Lord is well pleased for His righteousness’ sake; He will exalt the law and make it honorable. But this is a people robbed and plundered … and no one says, Restore!” I know that this was written to a different people in a different time, but the Lord used it today to show me a spiritual law. First, He is always well pleased for the sake of His righteousness. There’s no question about that. And since I am the righteousness of God in Christ, He is well pleased with me. However, when one of God’s children are being robbed and plundered, it is vital to stand up and declare restoration!
Here's what the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart this morning: “Get restoration in your mouth and you will see it in your life.” Again, I understand that, since I am in Christ, I have been redeemed. But this isn’t what the Lord was showing me. Even though we have been born from above, there is still an enemy trying to steal from us as we read about yesterday. 1 Peter 5:8 says that our enemy, the devil, “walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” Notice two things. First, he is “like” a roaring lion. I like to say that he is like a dog with a big bark and no bite. He is completely powerless. Also, he is seeking whom he may devour. Well, I have got news for him; he can’t devour me or my family!
Here are four areas I have found that the Lord desires for you to see restoration in your life:
- Psalm 23:1-3 says, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want … He restores my soul.” More than anything else, our Father wants us to experience heart restoration from the inside-out.
- Jeremiah 30:17 reveals God’s heart for us, as He says, “I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds.” His desire is for you to be free of illness or pain in your body. He restores health.
- Job 42:10 in the Amplified declares, “And the Lord turned the captivity of Job and restored his fortunes.” Many times, the Bible talks about the Lord “turning the captivity” of His people, and this means He wanted to bring back their possessions that had been taken captive. (See Jeremiah 29:14 and 30:18, Lamentations 2:14, Deuteronomy 30:3, and others.) God wants to restore your finances.
- Joel 2:25 is a precious promise that God will “restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten.” Your Father wants to restore opportunities and things you thought had been lost forever.
Jesus is so good, and He never changes. His will for your life is the same as it has always been. I urge you today to step out in great faith and meditate on the many promises that God has declared over your life. Believe them. Receive them. Declare continual restoration over your life and you will see breakthrough in your life in ways that you have only dreamed.
